1978: The Eagles beat the editorial team of Rolling Stone magazine in a softball game at the University of Southern California. The final score was 15-8.
1988: Talking Heads peaked at number nineteen on the Billboard 200 Album Chart with their final studio album Naked which went on to go Gold in the U.S.
1994: In Vancouver, Randy Bachman led 1,322 mostly amateur guitarists for a performance of “Takin’ Care of Business” that lasted for 68 minutes which set a world record the largest number of people playing the same song simultaneously. The record would only last for two years.
1994: Rush set the record for most performances at Toronto’s Maple Leaf Gardens with their 22nd concert at the venue. Rush were on tour in support of their 15th studio album Counterparts.
1998: Steve Perry left Journey for the second time after the band decided to tour without him. Drummer Steve Smith also left the group.
2003: Pete Townshend is cleared of possessing child pornography, but was still placed on Great Britain’s list of Sex Offenders for five years.
